About Dr Yemisi: Dr Yemisi Sloane is a UK-based criminologist, researcher and educator whose research and teaching focus on gender-based violence and social inequality. Her areas of expertise span all forms of violence against women and girls, including domestic and intimate partner violence, sexual violence and exploitation, female genital mutilation (FGM) and human trafficking, with broader interests in migration, identity and institutional responses to harm. Her expertise extends to community-engaged and participatory research, working collaboratively with community organisations, local authorities and public sector partners across Europe, Africa and Asia to design and evaluate initiatives addressing health inequalities, social exclusion and community wellbeing. She is particularly committed to ensuring that academic research translates into evidence that informs policy and practice.
Professor Renee Luthra is the Deputy Director of the ESRC Research Centre on Micro-Social Change and the former founding Director of the Essex Centre for Migration Studies. She is currently leading a Nuffield Foundation funded project on the experience of immigrant families in the family justice system, documenting the unique challenges these families face during parental separation. Her research documents how the experience of international migration can be empowering, but also challenging, for immigrants and their children who choose to make the UK their home.
Ruth Nanjala is a dedicated leader shaping impactful initiatives across the globe. Ruth’s multifaceted contributions underscore her commitment to mentorship, education, and community building. Ruth is the founder of the ‘My Science Journey’ (MSJ) digital platform. Through the MSJ platform, established scientists are invited to share their science narratives, thus offering mentorship to inspire and guide young scientists towards careers in science. Also, the organizion runs several initiatives including Science Communication Workshops. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Medicine at the University of Oxford.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and joined Irwin Mitchell in 2012. I have many years of experience in medical negligence claims. As part of a team, I deal with complex and high-value medical negligence claims. I represent clients with a range of injuries but have particular interest in claims associated with birth injuries, amputation, neurological injury (including brain and spinal injury), and fatal accidents. I pride myself on being meticulous and compassionate. I aim to give my clients quality advice and the best result possible.

Recognised for his integrity and insight, Rudi has an established reputation in senior-level recruitment and governance, including as a former Senior Independent Panel Member for ministerial and senior NHS leaders and NEDs with the Appointments Commission, Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments, Department of Health & Social Care, Ministry of Justice, and Governing Councils.
His expertise in building trusted relationships across stakeholders, faith networks, and frontline professionals has supported advisory groups, expert panels, Royal Colleges, NHS Trusts, CCGs, Healthwatch, Healthcare for
